Toronto, ON — October 6, 2026 — Athennian today announced the launch of Athennian Intelligence and Athennian MCP, two AI capabilities designed to help legal, finance, tax and compliance teams find answers and complete governance work faster, whether inside Athennian or in AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot.
Athennian Intelligence brings AI-powered search directly into Athennian. Users can ask questions in natural language across corporate records and Minute Book documents, receive answers grounded in available source documents and open the supporting material directly from the response for verification.
Athennian MCP brings governed Athennian data into the AI tools teams already use. Users can give an AI tool a complex governance question or multi-step task and let it retrieve the relevant information directly from Athennian. This reduces the prework of finding, exporting and organizing data before a task can begin.
“Governance teams are already using AI, but those tools are only as useful as the information they can access,” said Adrian Camara, CEO of Athennian. “Athennian Intelligence gives teams a faster way to find answers from the corporate records they already manage in Athennian. Athennian MCP extends that source of truth into the AI tools they already use, giving AI the governed entity data it needs to help complete the last-mile work.”
Athennian Intelligence is designed for research and discovery inside Athennian. It can search across multiple entities or focus a question on a specific group of entities and sources. For questions better answered as structured data, it can return results in a report that users can open in Athennian Custom Reports to review, filter and continue working with.
Athennian MCP is designed for complex, multi-entity work outside the Athennian interface. Teams can use it to trace beneficial ownership, prepare groups for transaction diligence, identify upcoming compliance obligations, audit entity records and Minute Books, compare external documents against Athennian data, and create reports or other outputs using the capabilities of the connected AI tool.
Both products are built around governed access to corporate information. Administrators can control which entities and documents Athennian Intelligence can access, including restricting individual documents from AI search. Athennian MCP retrieves live Athennian data at the time of the request and applies the roles and permissions already configured for each user. The connection is read-only, so AI tools can retrieve information but cannot add, change or delete data in Athennian. Athennian remains the system of record.
Athennian MCP also includes a library of prebuilt prompts and skills to help teams get started with common governance workflows. Athennian Intelligence allows users to begin with the question they need answered and work directly back to the documented source. Together, the two products give teams ways to use AI with Athennian data both inside the platform and across the AI tools becoming part of their everyday work.
Athennian built the MCP to support deployment across large teams while preserving the roles and permissions already configured in Athennian. Organizations can roll out MCP access to hundreds or thousands of users without manually configuring each user or repeatedly rotating individual API credentials.
“We had the core MCP capabilities ready early. Our focus was making sure organizations could deploy them at scale with confidence,” said Camara. “Our customers need to be able to make this available to hundreds or thousands of users while preserving the access boundaries they already have in Athennian. We built for that level of adoption from the start.”
